If you are looking to upgrade your license, there is some excellent news regarding RIBO requirements. Level 1 license holders can now apply to upgrade their license to a Level 2 Unrestricted -Technical Only license without needing to submit a Principal Broker support letter. This only applies to those who have completed CAIB, CIP, FCIP, or CRM. This change makes the process of upgrading your license much easier, especially for those who may not have a Principal Broker to provide support.
If you are working towards a designation, you can apply for a Level 2 Unrestricted -Technical Only license after completing the required courses. For CAIB holders, this means completing CAIB 1, 2, and 3 and passing all three courses. For CIP holders, you must complete C130 and C131 and pass both courses.
If you wish to upgrade your license, email licensing@ribo.com and write “Technical Examination Waiver – Your Name – Your License Number” in the subject line, including your course transcripts or a diploma as proof of eligibility.
Non-Ontario residents with a level 3 license are encouraged to apply for this RIBO upgrade along with other licensees.
As for the new accelerated management exam, candidates must complete the C132 brokerage management course with their designation. If you plan to take the accelerated management exam, don’t forget to take the C132 course if you haven’t done so already.
SUMMARY
In conclusion, RIBO has removed the Principal Broker support letter requirement for the Level 2 Technical exam waiver request and requires an additional completion of the C132 course for those wanting to take the accelerated management exam.
