UPDATE: In order to enhance the quality of exam control and monitoring , IBAO will no longer provide paper exams. Starting March 3rd, 2023, the RIBO exams will be exclusively online.
Recently, irregularities in the examination results and procedures associated with the IBAO’s in-person exams has been detected. This has led RIBO to direct the IBAO to halt the delivery of RIBO licensing exams. This will continue until a comprehensive investigation can be conducted and any necessary process adjustments can be made. The objective of this action is to ensure the integrity of the examination process and protect the validity of the license.
This issue has caused some inconvenience for individuals who were planning to take the in-person RIBO licensing exams. However, RIBO had to take this step to ensure exam integrity and the integrity of the profession overall. Online exams booked with the IBAO on or before January 11, 2023, will still be allowed to continue. This means that individuals who have already booked their online exams will not be impacted by this suspension.
In addition, re-marks for exams written after April 1, 2021, are only available for Level 2 technical and management exams. Candidates are eligible to rewrite the exam within eight months of their first attempt and, after two failed attempts, must wait for eight months before attempting the exam again with the same provider. Exam results will be invalid and will not count towards licensing if an individual attempts any exam(s) more than twice in an 8-month period with any single exam provider.
ribo/ibao exam irregularity Summary
In conclusion, the decision to temporarily suspend the in-person exams is a necessary step to ensure the integrity of the examination process and protect the validity of the license. Online exams will still be allowed to continue. If you would still like to write the exams, review the RIBO Exam Standards and register per usual.
