To write the LLQP exam in Calgary, there are a few key requirements you must meet:
- Complete a course with an approved LLQP course provider
- Receive a CIPR certification from your approved course provider
- Register for the provincial exam with the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC)
Alberta Exam Locations
There are several locations in Alberta where you can write the in-person LLQP exam. Here’s a list of LLQP exam locations in Alberta:

LLQP Exam in Calgary
The HLLQP exams in Calgary run from Monday – Thursday every week. Your exam time depends on which exam you are writing:

10:45am – 12pm | Segregated Funds |
1pm – 2:15pm | Accident & Sickness |
2:45pm – 4pm | Ethics and Professional Practice |
As you can see from the time table above, you can write all 4 modules on the same day with a small 30 minute break in-between exams. You also get 1 hour for lunch from 12pm – 1pm.

Special Considerations
If you have a medical condition or some other situation that requires special consideration when writing the exam (ie. to write in a separate room or to get more time), you need to inform the Alberta Insurance Council before registration to discuss what you need. A signed medical note may be required.
If you do not ask for special considerations before registration, there will be no exception made.
COVID-19
The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) is still offering exams as insurance is an essential service but seating will be limited due to social distancing requirements. Make sure you book your exam date well in advance.
