[Important Update:] As of April 2021, there will be no case study questions on the RIBO 1 exam any more.
Prior to this recent update, the RIBO 1 exam consisted of 90 multiple choice questions worth 1 mark each and 1 multi-part case study question worth 10 marks for a total of 100 marks. Now, the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) has decided to remove the case study portion of the exam.
Now, the new version of the RIBO 1 exam will consist of only 100 multiple choice questions. The exam passing grade remains the same at 75%.
Hearing feedback from our students, many felt that the case study portion of the exam was the most challenging. We believe these are positive changes that will boost the passing rate for the RIBO 1 exam across the board. Overall, these changes are beneficial to students because it makes the exam easier to pass. I also do not believe that removing the case study questions will decrease the quality of students/brokers.
For more information on the updates and new RIBO exam registration procedures, see our RIBO 1 course. Exam registration information and more can be found in the Introduction section of the course that is accessible through the free trial. You do not need to pay to access this exam information.
