ACCREDITED CONTINUING EDUCATION & ONLINE INSURANCE COURSES FOR FUNDAMENTALS OF INSURANCE, CAIB*, RIBO**, ALBERTA GIL & OTHERS

February 6, 2021

The goal of this post is to give you a quick overview on Nova Scotia Life Insurance CE Requirements.

In most provinces, life insurance agents and accident insurance agents need to complete a certain number of continuing education (CE) hours each licensing term (usually 1 year) to renew their license.

Nova Scotia, along with the other Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador) DO NOT have any continuing education requirements. Life insurance agents and A&S insurance agents in the Atlantic provinces DO NOT need to take any life insurance CE courses to renew their license.

If you are also licensed in other provinces however, you may still be subject to their continuing education requirements. See the resources below to understand more:

Even though there are no Nova Scotia life insurance CE requirements, you should still consider professional development. Learning about new products, existing products, needs analysis, and more can help you become a better agent. After all, the old saying goes: “the more you learn, the more you earn”.
