Summary: The RIBO Exam Registration process involves requesting a paper exam registration and license application form from RIBO, completing it, and mailing it back to secure your exam date, time and location.
RIBO Licensing Process
The RIBO licensing process for people new to the industry is a pretty straight-forward 3 step process:
- Study the RIBO 1 course
- Register for and pass the RIBO 1 exam
- Start looking for jobs and apply for your license
While it sounds straightforward, the actual steps are anything but.
RIBO Exam Registration
You can choose between in-person or virtual proctored exams. Based on the availability of the proctor, you will get to choose any day in the week that suits your schedule. Just remember that it is first-come, first-serve, so schedule your exam at your earliest convenience.
You can choose between the “In-person” or “Online proctored” exam formats within the portal. Upon selecting your preferred format, you’ll have access to a list of available dates, locations, and sitting times. Once you’ve identified the desired RIBO exam date and location, click on the registration link provided on the website. You will be directed to an online registration form that you need to complete. This form typically requires personal information such as your name, contact details, criminal check, and license information.
Ensure that you provide accurate information, as any discrepancies could result in issues during the examination process. Double-check your details before submitting the form to avoid any mistakes.
After completing the registration form and making the required fees, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will contain important details such as your exam date, time, location, and any additional instructions you need to follow. If you need to make changes, you can reschedule or alter your exam format up to 24 hours before your scheduled sitting.
Test your equipment before the exam. Ensure your webcam, microphone, and other devices are working properly. Position your webcam to capture your face, ID, and workspace as required. Test the exam platform to become familiar with its features, navigation, and functions.
Tip: If you don’t have an employer or sponsor yet, leave that part blank.
After The Exam
After you’ve successfully passed the exam (congratulations), you’re now qualified to become an insurance broker. This means you can start looking for jobs in the insurance industry.
